Literature Text

Your bitterness keeps ringing in my ears.
You play upon all my secret fears.
I can't give enough for you to take.
Just thinking of you brings back the ache.
You bring up the same old familiar pain.
It's gathered an elegaic strain.
You won't accept anything I say to be half-true.
The fault lies with you.

You can't be settled with any peace.
Your wants know no surcease.
No matter how may strands I grasp,
The tapestry always comes unclasped.
This picture spotted with dark patches,
Caused by countless thrown lit matches.
And I brought all this to the end?
You'd better think again.

The foundation of this home
Was made of graveyard stone.
The cracks swallowed up piece and section,
Till all our feelings were in traction.
Of vice and regret I've had my fill.
You wouldn't accept me still.
And yet you never cease the chatter.
What does it matter?
Come on, Anger! Pay off for me!
