Give me a month - or less -
And I will see what I can do.
Have I skill to pass the test
And make my vision clear to you?
The refuse that litters my life,
I hope to salvage some saving grace.
Can I be master of the knife
And carve some character on my face?
In these hollow woods I haunt,
Murmuring songs of disbelief.
For a reflecting pool I hunt,
To see the salvation through the grief.
Ask me for a fragment thin;
I will not linger to reply.
To skim the shadow from the skin,
How much longer should I try?
