Brick by brick
Stone by stone
The rising tide within me grows
And as the high walls
Keep the flood back
Still on the attack

The ring of fire
Keeps them at bay
They dare not traverse my way
The word tolling outwards
Scattering them all about
Keep the hell out

Holding up a shield
Refusing to yield
Wondering what I had known
Stone-cold mask
Tries the task
The damage is my own
